Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using StarSol (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. The Service is operated by Salzventure Technologies LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("StarSol," "we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

StarSol is a curated astronomy streaming application delivering space imagery, video documentaries, sky-event data, and ambient viewing experiences on Android TV, Google TV, and companion web. We offer free access with limited content and paid subscription tiers with full library access.

The Service, including available features, channels, media, data feeds, pricing, and supported devices, may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee that any specific item of content, forecast, pass prediction, data source, or feature will remain available.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on the cycle shown at checkout (monthly or annual). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through the platform where you subscribed; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

All subscription fees are final and non-refundable once charged, including monthly and annual subscription fees, except where a refund is required by applicable law or the rules of the payment platform that processed the purchase. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal charges; it does not create a refund, credit, or partial refund for the current billing period.

Google Play purchases: if you subscribe in the Google TV app, billing, cancellation, renewal, and refund flows are handled through Google Play and the Google account used for purchase. Manage or cancel those subscriptions in Google Play subscriptions. We receive purchase tokens and subscription status only to verify entitlement.

Web payments are processed by Stripe. Google TV subscriptions purchased in the Google Play-distributed app are processed and managed by Google Play. StarSol does not store your full card number.

Where required by automatic-renewal law, renewal notices will identify the subscription, renewal date, price, billing frequency, and cancellation method. Prices and plan features may change for future billing periods with notice where required.

Free Trial. We may offer a limited free trial period for new subscribers. The trial period, if offered, will be stated at the time of sign-up. Your payment method will not be charged until the trial ends. If you do not cancel before the trial period expires, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the then-current price and renew on the schedule described above. Each account is eligible for one free trial per subscription tier. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free trial offers at any time.

4. Content & Intellectual Property

StarSol's original work — including our curation, editorial selection, user interface design, brand identity, and software — is our intellectual property, protected by copyright and trademark law.

Third-party content on the Service is sourced from public domain and Creative Commons archives and is subject to the terms of those licenses:

NASA imagery and video are generally not subject to copyright in the United States unless otherwise noted. StarSol is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASA, ESA, STScI, ESO, NOIRLab, or any other third-party content source. No NASA logos, seals, or official marks appear in this Service.

CC BY 4.0 content, including ESA/Webb material where applicable, is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. The full license text is available at creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0. Where applicable, we have indicated modifications (re-encoding, color grading) and display per-asset credit lines in the player interface.

Third-party content owners retain all rights in their media, data, names, marks, and other materials. Your use of third-party content is subject to the applicable source license, attribution requirements, and usage restrictions. StarSol does not transfer ownership of third-party content to you and does not grant rights beyond those we are legally able to provide.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 if you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom) to create an account. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 must have parental or guardian permission to use the Service and create an account.

You may not use the Service to: violate any applicable law; transmit spam or malware; attempt to reverse-engineer or extract content from the platform; or share account credentials with others outside your household.

You may request account deletion through available in-app tools or by contacting us. Deleting your StarSol account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Google Play or another app store; you must cancel those subscriptions through the store account where you purchased them.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

6. Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

Auto-renewal disclosure: Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

We will notify you by email at least thirty (30) days before any increase in your subscription price takes effect. If we do not provide this notice, the price increase will not apply to your current billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Web subscriptions: cancel at starsol.app/account. Google Play subscriptions: cancel through the Google Play Store app. Your access continues through the end of your paid period.

How to cancel: Web subscriptions can be managed from starsol.app/account. Google TV subscriptions purchased through Google Play must be managed in Google Play subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you retain access until then.

Refunds: Web subscriptions are non-refundable after the billing date except where required by law or payment-processor rules. Refund requests for Google Play purchases are generally handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policies. Any refund we are able or required to provide will be processed through the applicable payment channel.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be continuously available. Sky and orbital data, including ISS passes, eclipse times, aurora forecasts, imagery dating, weather context, and local observing guidance, is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.

StarSol does not provide professional, scientific, emergency, safety, aviation, marine, navigation, or mission-critical advice. Do not rely on the Service for decisions where inaccurate astronomy, weather, location, or orbital information could cause harm, property damage, missed travel, financial loss, or operational disruption.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StarSol's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. DMCA / Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice including: (i) identification of the copyrighted work; (ii) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Service; (iii) your contact information; (iv) a statement of good-faith belief; (v) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury; and (vi) your signature. 10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, except where consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Informal Resolution. Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@salzventure.com with a written description of the dispute and your desired resolution. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days of receiving your notice. If we cannot resolve it informally within that period, either party may then pursue the remedies described below.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, unless a different forum is required by applicable consumer law. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court. To the maximum extent permitted by law, disputes must be brought only on an individual basis, and you waive the right to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.

If you are located outside the United States, you may have additional rights under mandatory local consumer or data-protection law, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Payment data is handled by the payment platform used for checkout, including Stripe on web and Google Play in the Google TV app.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email, in-app notice, or other reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
