Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 29, 2026 · Operated by Salzventure Technologies LLC

StarSol is operated by Salzventure Technologies LLC. StarSol provides astronomy media, constellation learning, sky guidance, and subscription features for TV and web. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and how to contact us.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Location Data

Location is used only for astronomy features such as sky context, ISS pass planning, weather/cloud context, and aurora watch status. If you grant location access, your device or browser may provide precise latitude and longitude. We use that location to request astronomy, weather, and map context and to save your chosen observing location if you ask us to. You can deny or revoke location permission in your browser or device settings; StarSol will use a default or saved location until you change it.

Payments

Web payments are processed by Stripe. Google TV subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. Each payment provider handles payment data under its own terms and privacy policy. StarSol receives only the information needed to verify entitlement, manage access, troubleshoot billing, and maintain required records. Deleting your StarSol account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Google Play or another app store; you must cancel those subscriptions through the store account where you purchased them.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information with service providers that help operate StarSol, including hosting, email, authentication, analytics, billing, and astronomy/weather data services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, StarSol, or the public.

Current service providers and data flows include hosting and database providers for account operation, Google and Apple for optional sign-in, Cloudflare Turnstile for signup abuse prevention, Stripe for web payments, Google Play Billing for Google TV purchases, Resend for transactional email, Open-Meteo for weather context, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim for optional reverse geocoding, WhereTheISS.at for ISS position context, and NASA/ESA/STScI/ESO/NOIRLab media sources or CDNs for astronomy imagery and video. Some third-party media, font, or data requests may receive your IP address and user-agent as part of normal internet delivery.

Retention

We keep account and subscription records while your account is active and for as long afterward as reasonably needed for legal, security, accounting, tax, dispute, and operational purposes. Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to seven years where needed for accounting, tax, or payment-platform compliance. Diagnostic, security, and server logs are generally retained for a limited period, commonly 30 to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate abuse, fraud, payment issues, or security events.

Your Choices

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or interruption will never occur.

International Use

StarSol is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

Children

StarSol is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Service Providers and Sub-Processors

We share data with the following third-party service providers to operate StarSol. Each provider receives only the data necessary to perform their services and is bound by appropriate data protection obligations.

None of these providers receive your data for their own advertising purposes.
